Attendees at the 72nd Annual NABCA Conference witnessed the unveiling of an innovative series of signs designed to promote social responsibility among its members and partners. The conference, held May 13-17, 2009, in Phoenix, Arizona, featured a series of six signs aimed at preventing overconsumption of alcoholic beverages and underage drinking. The campaign was designed to remind everyone of their responsibility to ensure the safe distribution, sale and promotion of alcoholic beverages. The signs were placed within the product suites and trade show booths at the conference, while several billboards were also placed throughout the property.
There are three separate designs for each of the two messages relayed by the signage. All of the signs include the phrase “Practice What We Preach,” a reminder to all of those attending that they had an especially important role to remember in protecting the public by preventing overconsumption and underage drinking of alcoholic beverages.
The NABCA Board of Directors was very pleased with the success of this campaign. As a result, the final poster and billboard designs are being made available on the NABCA website (www.nabca.org) for download for any member or partner interested in replicating the signage and messages for placement in their offices, retail establishments or any other placement that is appropriate for increasing the awareness of everyone’s responsibility to prevent alcohol-related problems.
