Robert Dorfman


Bob spent 15 years with Marriott International in a number of capacities, from 1981 to 1995. He joined Marriott as Vice President of Procurement, responsible for approximately $2 Billion in purchasing, the Corporate test kitchens and Corporate Quality Assurance. Subsequent to that, he ran a number of Marriott contract service businesses, ranging in size from $100 million in sales to almost $2 billion. Bob was the President of Host International, a Marriott company, and the world’s largest food, beverage, duty free and retail operator of airport, toll roads and sports and entertainment businesses. Annual sales exceeded $1.5B with almost 40,000 employees worldwide. He was a corporate officer of Marriott for 10 years. After leaving Marriott, Bob consulted with a number of smaller and mid-size companies, helping them to develop their business strategies and assisted in creating their operating infrastructure to grow, substantially increasing their market value.

Bob joined the Five Guys franchise system in 2005, purchasing a 16 store territory in Tampa, Florida. Over a period of only 7 years, not only had he successfully opened up 9 stores in Tampa, but he purchased the rights for Columbus, Ohio, where he opened 11 stores, Houston Texas with 13 open and operating stores and South Texas with stores opened in Corpus Christi and McAllen. His company, TCH Restaurant Group, had a total commitment to open and operate 103 Five Guys. TCH Restaurant Group was the second largest operating franchisee in the Five Guys System. The company was sold to Five Guys corporate in November 2012.

In June of 2012, Bob joined Trusthouse Services Group, the 5th largest contract services company in the US, as President and COO. In May of 2013, he played a key role in the company’s very successful sale to a major French company, completing his obligations of employment.

In October of 2013, Bob signed a development agreement with World of Beer to open several locations in northern and central Virginia. He currently operates a successful location in Charlottesville, VA with a second location slated to open early 2016 in Ashburn, VA.

Bob received his BA in Political Science from Rutgers University and his MBA in Executive Management and Marketing from St. Johns University in NY.

He and his wife, Marlene, live in N. Potomac, Maryland.
