Stephen Larson


Mr. Larson was appointed Administrator of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division in May of 2010 and was reappointed by Governor Terry E. Branstad in 2014. He has been a public service since 1984. During his time in public service his experience is related to matters in regards to regulatory compliance, financial management, and governmental relations. As the Administrator of the Alcoholic Beverages Division, he has implemented initiatives including policies and procedures for enhancing customer service, improving efficiencies and space utilization, initiating education and outreach programs, and renewing the alcohol regulatory compliance program. Mr. Larson has focused on revitalizing the agency’s relationships with trade associations, industry partners and local officials. He is a past Chairman of the Board of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA), serving from 2015-2016, and is a member of the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators (NCSLA). Mr. Larson graduated with honors from William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He resides in Polk City, Iowa with his wife, Jane, and has two sons, and is a proud grandparent of two granddaughters.
