This practice was put in place to allow vendors and owners of our agency liquor stores accessibility to their account via an on‐line program. It allows for 24/7 access to information pertinent to their business.
Description of Practice
The push for more efficient green products and facilities has become prominent across the nation. As control states, we too need to be consciences of the environment and look for opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint. The Montana Liquor Control Division has implemented several programs over the past year to reduce waste and energy consumption. Below are a list of programs and practices, our division has implemented: Recycling - The following items are actively recycled by our division. It is important to check with your local recycling companies to determine what is acceptable and the method for turning them in. - Cardboard - Paper - Aluminum Cans - Plastic Water Bottles - Newspaper - Shrink‐wrap - Batteries - Wooden Pallets Energy Consumption - With a strong support from our acting Governor, the Liquor Control Division has sought several avenues to reduce energy consumption. The following list identifies items that we have implemented or will implement by the end of calendar year 2010. - Lighting Retrofit - HVAC Replacement - Enhanced Lighting Controls - Enhanced Doors/Weather‐stripping - Upgrading to High Efficiency Heaters in our Warehouse Area - Installing Striation Fans - Upgrading our Truck Bays (call for specifics) - Installed smart‐strips on all computers The Montana Liquor Control Division has committed itself to continually look for other options to enhance its business presence by emphasizing green concepts. These concepts not only generate revenue and reduce utility expenses, but make good business sense as well.
