Ohio pursuing hemp as new cash crop

The Buckeye State is among the first to receive federal approval for a statewide program to cultivate hemp.

New whiskeys, rye (and a hurricane relief rum) coming to Virginia’s state-run liquor stores

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is set to add 47 new products to the shelves of state-run liquor stores in 2020, including a rum whose proceeds help fund hurricane recovery in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Utah marks one year with .05, the nation’s toughest anti-drunk driving law

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Highway Patrol is compiling data from the first year of the nation's toughest anti-drunk driving law. But so far, the state has not recorded a significant number of DUIs at the new blood alcohol level of .05.

Vt. arrests increase for high driving

MONTPELIER — In the first year that recreational marijuana was legal in Vermont, the number of drivers arrested by state police for impaired driving who had THC in their systems more than doubled, according to state police data requested by The Associated Press.
