Pennsylvania Lawmakers Introduce ‘Deana’s Law’ To Increase Penalties For Repeat Drunk Drivers

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) — Pennsylvania is cracking down on repeat DUI drivers in hopes of saving lives. Lawmakers introduced “Deana’s Law,” named after Deana Eckman, who was killed by a drunk driver who had five previous DUIs.

Governor Whitmer Appoints Patrick Gagliardi and Geralyn Lasher to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission

LANSING, Mich. –Governor Gretchen Whitmer today appointed Patrick Gagliardi and Geralyn Lasher to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, and designated Mr. Gagliardi as Chairperson of the Commission.

Portland wants a new license for alcohol manufacturers. Is that really necessary?

When Portland City Councilors approved the city’s budget in May, it included a new manufacturing license for breweries, wineries and distilleries that would cost manufacturers $2,000 if they produce more than 50,000 gallons of alcohol and $250 for those who make 50,000 gallons or less.

400K Of Illegally Shipped Bottles of Alcohol Sold In Michigan

Michigan has an alcohol smuggling problem. That’s according to the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association. The association compiled data from the Liquor Control Commission and the state’s excise tax information to determine how much alcohol is being shipped to Michigan illegally.

Data: Arlington accounts for 2.8% of Va. booze sales

The eight Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores in Arlington accounted for 2.8 percent of total ABC purchases Virginia-wide during the state government’s last fiscal year, which saw a new statewide record set in total sales volume.
