Walmart pushing for Utah to allow higher alcohol content beer in stores

SALT LAKE CITY — Walmart wants customers to weigh in on an effort to sell higher alcohol content beer — now available only in state-run liquor outlets — in Utah grocery and convenience stores.

Vermonters offer feedback on potential marijuana retail system

WILLISTON, Vt. - Governor Phil Scott's Marijuana Advisory Commission held a listening session in Williston Wednesday evening to get feedback on their recently released draft report, which covers roadway safety, education and prevention, and taxation and regulation.

Explaining Pennsylvania’s brewery retail beer sales tax

The beer sales tax law has been there since the ’70s. It just hasn’t been enforced. There’s been lots of confusion in the craft beer industry and in the press about Pennsylvania’s new retail sales tax on beer sold at brewery taprooms.

Say hello to Ohio Liquor – state rebranding its shops

State Liquor Agency is out, Ohio Liquor is in.  The latest step in the evolution of Ohio’s Division of Liquor Control is a rebranding of the business, so to speak. Starting in 2019, the new Ohio Liquor name and logo will be appearing at shops around the state.

Utah restaurants, nightlife and law enforcement prepare for .05 DUI law to take effect

The blood alcohol level will be lowered from .08 to .05. Hospitality and tourism groups are trying to mitigate any negative impacts by pushing a new campaign to remind people they can keep drinking -- just leave the car at home.
