OPP say 53 per cent of victims in alcohol/drug crashes were not impaired

ONTARIO — Last week Ontario Provincial Police released some shocking statistics that prove that half of those who die in alcohol or drug related road crashed are not the impaired driver.

Alison Douglas: Take pride in the defeat of Big Alcohol

The decision by the UK Supreme Court to dismiss the Scotch Whisky Association’s appeal against minimum unit pricing is a landmark victory for public health.   
Minimum pricing came about in response to soaring alcohol-related hospital admissions and deaths in Scotland.

Alberta opts for private retail sales of legalized marijuana

Alberta will let the market reign when it comes to bricks-and-mortar cannabis stores – allowing licensed private outlets to spring up across the province, with the numbers and locations being determined mainly by the owner-operators.

The UK supreme court has backed the Scottish government’s plans to introduce a minimum price for all alcoholic drinks in a decisive victory for Nicola Sturgeon.
