Judge's ruling would let Texas consumers buy booze from Walmart and Costco

A protectionist Texas law that has kept Walmart, Costco and other giant retailers from selling hard liquor was found unconstitutional by a federal judge this week, prompting cheers from free-market advocates — and vows of a quick appeal from one of the parties on the losing side.

Oklahoma dry counties are running out of time to change their liquor-by-the-drink sales laws

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Oklahoma State Question 792, which will change where alcohol can be sold will take effect October 1st, however, 14 dry counties are running out of time to place a liquor-by-the-drink sales proposition on the June 26 ballot.

HOUSTON (AP) — Walmart’s legal victory allowing it to sell hard liquor in Texas doesn’t mean people in the state will be able to go out and buy bottles of vodka and gin at the retail giant’s stores anytime soon.
