Liquor prices going up in Oklahoma

MOORE, Okla. - A trip to the liquor store may soon be costing you more money.  "This is just the latest increase in February. It's going another 4 percent. But, it's been slowly increasing every two months since last year when the vote went through,” said Bryan Kerr, owner of Moore Liquor.

Lawmakers go forward with liquor bills for Washington County

ANNAPOLIS — The Washington County delegation to the Maryland General Assembly agreed Wednesday to introduce legislation dealing with temporary liquor licenses.

The first would let the Washington County Board of License Commissioners issue a Class C "per diem," or one-day on-sale, license to a nonprofit organization during an event that is held away from its place of business and has an admission fee, ticket or donation.

Anchorage searching for solutions to fight alcohol epidemic

uesday night the Anchorage Assembly voted down a proposed ordinance by Dick Traini that would have adopted a municipal wholesale tax on alcoholic beverages.
"What's unique about a municipal tax versus a state tax is we can actually tell where the money goes," Assembly member Forrest Duncan said. "We can direct it.

Cocktailspin: Alcohol board votes 3-1 to stop distilleries from serving mixed drinks

In a 3-1 vote, the Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has upended the state’s distilleries by approving new regulations that forbid the distilleries from serving mixed drinks. The state’s nine licensed distilleries have previously testified that mixed drinks served in approved tasting rooms are key parts of their individual business plans.

Texas craft brewers get political to 'protect the rights' of beer makers, drinkers

Displeased with state lawmakers' recent changes to beer laws, the Texas Craft Brewers Guild has decided to amplify its voice at the Texas Capitol by forming a political action committee.

CraftPAC, which was announced Monday, is meant to "protect the rights of Texas breweries and champion common sense, 21st century legislative reforms," the group said.
