Bills to modernize liquor laws coming before the Oklahoma legislature

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) - Since Oklahoma voters approved State Question 792 for the sale of high beer and wine in grocery and convenience stores, this state's liquor business has been in transition.

House passes bill overhauling strong-beer sales in Kansas

The House approved on emergency final action a bill Thursday delivering to convenience, grocery and drug stores entry into the strong-beer market in Kansas and granting liquor stores authority to begin selling cigarettes and other nonalcoholic merchandise.

'Connecticut Craft Beer' passes House

HARTFORD — With little debate, an apparently thirsty House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation that would allow farmers to brew and sell beer similar to the way that some now make and market their own wine.

3.2 beer's weak outlook spurs legislation

Proposed Oklahoma Legislation Would Criminalize Refusing Breath Test

A bill that would make drunk driving laws stricter is making its way through the state legislature.

“I think there should be a law to make drunk driving more strict here because there's too many drunks on the road,” Muldrow resident Wanda Eads said.

‘There’s no way we could compete,’ ABC store owner says of new state ruling

A state Supreme Court ruling could have a big impact on liquor stores in South Carolina. The court overturned a decades-old law that limits how many liquor licenses a business can own.

Some store owners say they fear bigger chains could put them out of business.
