State reverses course, allows pot retailers to post signs at Hempfest

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board has revised a rule that would have banned advertising by marijuana retailers at Hempfest, reversing its position in light of a lawsuit filed last month by a pair of the state’s largest cannabis retailers who claimed the board was violating their free-speech rights.

Craft breweries back sample sizes, larger 16 ounce ‘standard’

WAILUKU– Officials with the growing local craft brewpub industry urged the Maui County Liquor Commission on Wednesday to permit the serving of sample-size craft beers and opposed a rule change defining a “standard drink” of beer at 12 ounces, saying the worldwide industry standard is 16 ounces.

Baltimore liquor stores challenge new zoning law designed to shut them down

Arguing that the city of Baltimore violated the Constitution by trying to force them out of business, the owners of 30 liquor stores have appealed new zoning rules. Their lawyer said Tuesday that the challenges will allow the stores to remain open, at least for now.
