Alaska grocery stores re-open following a day of damage, some still closed

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Damage to grocery store stock and the buildings themselves was recorded in Anchorage and neighboring communities yesterday in the wake of the 7.0 earthquake that rocked Southcentral Alaska.

D.C. names new nightlife office director — a city liquor board investigator

Applications to become the District’s first nightlife director came in from across the country and around the world, but Mayor Muriel E. Bowser selected a lead investigator from her own liquor board to take on the city’s “after-hours economy” — noise, crime, rats and all.

Whiteclay beer stores drop lawsuit against state for alleged unpaid taxes

LINCOLN — Owners of the four now-closed beer stores in the border village of Whiteclay, Nebraska, have reached settlements in their lawsuits challenging nearly $700,000 in allegedly unpaid state taxes and fees.

City council to consider liquor license resolution

LAS CRUCES – The Las Cruces City Council on Monday will consider a resolution in support of a proposal likely to come before the New Mexico Legislature that would permit the sale of New Mexico-produced liquor at businesses currently only permitted to serve beer and wine.
