    Penn State Updates Responsible Action Protocol to Protect Students in Need of Medical Help for Overdose

    Penn State has updated its Responsible Action Protocol to encourage more students to call 911 in case of emergency, even when the situation involves alcohol or drugs.
    The university’s Responsible Action Protocol already protected students from disciplinary action if they are underage drinking or are under the influence of other drugs but call for help for another person in need.

    Nova Scotia to sell marijuana through nine Liquor Corporation stores

    Cannabis will be sold at only nine Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation stores when the drug is officially legalized in July, the province announced Tuesday.  Pot will be sold at four outlets in the Halifax area and at stores in Amherst, Truro, New Glasgow, Sydney River, and Yarmouth, Justice Minister Mark Furey said.

    Making is legal for Iowans to bring out-of-state beer and wine into the state

    It’s currently illegal for Iowans to buy wine or beer in another country or even another state and bring it into Iowa. Senator Roby Smith of Davenport is sponsoring a bill that, essentially, would let Iowans transport 48 cans of beer or six bottles of wine across the state line.  “This would bring common sense regulations to Iowa,” Smith says.

    If you’ve ever gotten drunk in a South Dakota bar, the establishment that served you was breaking the law.   A long-standing provision in South Dakota alcohol regulations makes it illegal for the owner of an alcohol license to “allow any person to become intoxicated on the licensed premise.”
