    Should Home Distilling Be Legal In N.H.? Lawmakers to Vote Today

    New Hampshire House lawmakers are expected to vote Wednesday on a bill that would legalize home liquor distilling.

    Booze enthusiasts are currently allowed to make up to 200 gallons of beer and wine at home - depending on the size of their household.

    Ohio's 'Last Call' campaign delists hundreds of liquor bottles

    CLEVELAND, Ohio – It’s last call for hundreds of bottles of liquor sold in Ohio.

    Beginning this week, the Ohio Department of Commerce is delisting about 700 items in its Last Call campaign, and that means consumers will have access to a clearinghouse of booze at discounted prices.

    Liquor industry pressure puts abrupt stop to unique alcohol warning-label project in Yukon

    It was touted as a world first: a project to put large, colourful labels on alcohol bottles to warn that drinking increases the risk of specific cancers, then study their impact.

    But just a few weeks into the eight-month experiment, the Yukon Liquor Corporation has abruptly put the study on ice, citing pressure from the companies whose products are at the centre of the initiative.

    Friends build island to avoid New Year's Eve alcohol ban at New Zealand's Tairua estuary

    A group of friends came up with a creative plan to avoid a New Year's Eve alcohol ban, by building a makeshift island in coastal waters.

    The ban was put in place at the Tairua estuary on the Coromandel Peninsula on New Zealand's north island in an attempt to curb excess drinking, but the group found a loophole.

    City council approves Sunday morning hard liquor sales

    COLUMBUS — Customers will soon be able to order a Bloody Mary or pick up a bottle of Jack Daniel’s at local businesses on Sunday mornings.
    Columbus City Council members voted 5-2 Tuesday night to authorize hard liquor sales beginning at 6 a.m. on Sundays.
