    Lithuania's new alcohol package raises eyebrows in industry

    The Lithuanian government has unveiled new policy measures aimed at tackling alcohol-related harm, including increasing the legal age for buying and consuming alcoholic drinks.
    Lithuania is among the countries with the highest per capita consumption of alcohol in Europe, according to the World Health Organisation.

    Alcohol lobby says minimum pricing will cost millions in wages

    A lobby group representing Irish alcoholic drinks manufacturers and suppliers has warned that almost 18,000 jobs nationwide worth an estimated €413 million in wages in Cork would be affected by minimum pricing on alcohol.

    Virginia ABC to offer rare Old Rip Van Winkle 25-year-old bourbon through lottery

    Bourbon lovers will get the chance to purchase a once-in-a-lifetime product from one of the nation's most famous distilleries next week on Virginia ABC's website.

    From 9 a.m. on May 10 to 9 a.m. on May 12, customers will be able to enter a lottery for the chance to purchase one of ten bottles of the extremely rare Old Rip Van Winkle 25-year-old bourbon. The entry form can be accessed on the Virginia ABC website, https://www.abc.virginia.gov/products/limited-availability.

    Pennsylvania takes steps to lift Cuban rum embargo

    Pennsylvania — the sixth most populous state in the country — has submitted the initial paperwork to begin the application process, and is now working to provide additional documentation and materials in a bid to lift the 1962 trade embargo.
    Under the Obama administration, ties between the US and Cuba were put on a path to "normalisation", with diplomatic relations restored and some travel restrictions eased.
