    As feds set to hike alcohol tax, Ontario halts beer tax hike again PiPa News

    As the federal government is set to raise its alcohol tax, Ontario says it is halting increases in the province's beer tax and LCBO labeling rates that were set to begin March 1.

    "This increase may be the result of inflation-indexed rates, which the government has consistently suspended over the past six years, resulting in an estimated $200 million relief," the province said in a statement news release.
