    Bill would allow police to enter private clubs, bars

    A bill in the West Virginia legislature would allow police to enter private clubs and bars that are open to the public.

    Currently, officers are unsure whether they can enter private clubs and bars without a West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Commissioner officer or a warrant, according to Delegate Barbara Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, the lead sponsor of House Bill 2129.

    Move to Scrap Limits on Liquor Licenses Stirs Opposition

    RANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Alcohol regulators in Kentucky have filed a proposal that would repeal rules limiting the number of licenses available for retail package liquor stores and by-the-drink liquor sales.  The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the proposed administrative regulations are stirring opposition. The Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control Board filed the proposal last month.

    Opinion: Cabinet decision to ban women from buying liquor is unconstitutional

    Women are permitted to purchase liquor. On 10 January 2018, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media issued Excise Notification No. 02/2018 under the Excise Ordinance, No. 8 of 1912 (as amended). The new Notification amends Excise Notification No. 666 of 31 December 1979, and removes the ban on the sale of liquor to women ‘within the premises of a tavern’.

    The startup named Joe Grabmeier as its chief financial officer, a role he most recently held at Adelphic Inc., a Waltham-based digital marketing startup that Time Inc. bought a year ago.
