    ‘Food is food’ - Alcohol Control Commission recommends food truck sales count

    The Alcohol Control Commission is recommending that food truck sales count toward the 50/50 ratio required to serve mixed drinks.

    Rome’s Alcohol Control Commission is recommending the city count sales from food trucks toward the 50/50 food-to-drink ratio required if an establishment sells liquor or mixed drinks.

    Pennsylvania closes liquor store that sits atop unstable mine in Monroeville

    Monroeville's Fine Wine and Good Spirits at 3845 Northern Pike closed Wednesday because the building had structural issues caused by an unstable mine below it, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board said in a news release.

    The agency that regulates the distribution of alcohol in the state said it is looking to acquire space for a temporary store in the same area until a permanent solution is found.

    HAMMOND — Though bootlegging is most commonly associated with Prohibition, bathtub gin and gangsters like Al Capone, federal prosecutors say it's alive and well in Northwest Indiana.

    The federal government has seized $1 million from a Hammond liquor store alleged to have sold booze to Illinois liquor stores so they could dodge the higher state alcohol taxes in the Land of Lincoln.
