    New Hampshire Considers Lowering Drinking Age to 20

    CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Lawmakers are again considering lowering the drinking age in New Hampshire.

    The House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee is holding a public hearing Tuesday on a bill that would lower the legal age for alcohol possession from 21 to 20.

    Vermont becomes first state to legalize marijuana through legislature

    (CNN)Vermont, the "Green Mountain State," has become the first state to legalize marijuana by passing a law in the legislature rather than by use of a ballot measure.

    Gov. Phil Scott signed H. 511 into law "with mixed emotions" Monday night, allowing for the possession of recreational marijuana.

    Bill would allow police to enter private clubs, bars

    A bill in the West Virginia legislature would allow police to enter private clubs and bars that are open to the public.

    Currently, officers are unsure whether they can enter private clubs and bars without a West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Commissioner officer or a warrant, according to Delegate Barbara Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, the lead sponsor of House Bill 2129.

    IOWA - Cameras on ignition interlock systems used by those convicted of drunken driving may begin to appear on dashboards as soon as July.

    The goal of adding cameras is to deter restricted drivers from using other people to take the breath test needed to start the engine of their vehicle.

    Bill would require bar owners to report life-threatening events

    CHARLESTON — Members of the West Virginia Senate are discussing a bill that would require bar owners to report violent crimes or other life-threatening events that happen on their property to law enforcement, EMS and the state Alcohol Beverage Control Administration.

    Virginia tourism: $2.2 billion growth during McAuliffe administration

    Governor Terry McAuliffe announced that there have been $1.4 billion in private investments towards Virginia’s tourism industry since he took office in 2014. The Commonwealth’s tourism industry also saw $2.2 billion in total growth during the McAuliffe administration, representing a compound annual growth rate of 3.3 percent.
