    Oklahoma Court Overturns Ruling in Liquor Tax Lawsuit

    OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Supreme Court has overturned a lower court ruling that hundreds of restaurants in the state overcharged customers for mixed drinks.

    Lawsuits filed in 2011 by Tom Erbar and John Truel alleged restaurants overcharged by adding a 13.5 percent liquor tax to advertised price of mixed drinks.

    Demerit point system proposed to track alcohol license holders' performance

    RACINE — People licensed to sell alcohol in Racine could become subject to a demerit point system that monitors compliance with local rules and state laws.
    The system was first proposed by City Attorney Scott Letteney in July and revisited this month by Racine’s Committee of the Whole.

    GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC - One South Carolina county is looking to prohibit the sale of alcohol in the wee small hours of the morning.

    Greenville County Council will vote on an ordinance that would ban the sale of alcohol in the county from 2-6 a.m., according to multiple reports.

    TALLAHASSEE — A Leon County grand jury found sufficient evidence to support criminal charges in the death of Florida State University fraternity pledge Andrew Coffey.
    But the panel said the investigation is not complete and more evidence has yet to be obtained and reviewed. No charges have yet been filed.
