    Los Angeles Moves to Tighten Rules on Alcohol Sales at Gas Stations

    A Los Angeles City Council committee voted Tuesday in favor of adopting stricter enforcement of the sale of alcoholic beverages at gas stations in an effort to reduce drunk driving and the availability of alcohol to minors.

    15% alcohol tax supported by most Bethel voters

    Anchorage (KTUU)-The first legal alcohol sale in Bethel was in April of 2016 taxed at 12%. On Tuesday, unofficial election results showed close to 60% of the city's voters approving an increase in the tax to 15%.

    A Massachusetts judge on Monday upheld the state's ban on so-called pay-to-play payments in the beer industry, rejecting the arguments of a craft beer distributor that had challenged the rule after getting slapped with a record fine for compensating bars to put its products on tap.
