    Two bills filed to change happy hour laws, drop bar membership fees in North Carolina

    Last week, legislators filed two bills in the N.C. General Assembly's short session to loosen restrictions when it comes to purchasing liquor and patronizing bars and restaurants across the state. If passed it would dictate changes to how the ABC Commission operates in the state.

    Michigan liquor tax could be slashed for small distillers, helping farmers along the way

    A proposed law, House Bill 4842, that's poised to be passed by the state Legislature and head to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her signature, could shift some of those revenues back to small distilleries, create greater opportunity for in-state farmers who grow the necessary crops and result in more authentic Michigan spirits.
