In its 19th year, conference brings together diverse groups from 17 control states and several municipalities

ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 20, 2013) --With 19 sessions and topics that include “Outlet Density”, “Regulating Non-Traditional Alcohol Products”, and “Fake IDs: The Good, the Bad and New Opportunities”, representatives from control systems and others active in beverage alcohol control will convene in Colonial Williamsburg for the 2013 NABCA Administrators’ Conference.

Hosted by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, more than 200 state and municipal control system officials along with some industry, public health and regulatory representatives will attend seminars to share best practices and discuss new technologies.

“Although each state manages the regulation, distribution and retail of beverage alcohol differently, we share the commonality of being control systems,” said Neal Insley, NABCA board chair and chairman of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. “No other conference brings together the communications, IT, regulatory, operations, education and warehouse disciplines in one place at one time,” he said. The conference is slated for October 20 – 23.

“As an association for the 17 control states and several municipalities that regulate beverage alcohol, this conference is important to us because it allows us to support our members in their overall efforts in regulation and responsible distribution of this product,” said Jim Sgueo, president and CEO of NABCA.
