ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 11, 2014) – Jeffrey R. Anderson, director of the Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) is the new Chairman of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association. He served as chair-elect during 2013 and was voted chairman by the Board of Directors at their meeting in California. Anderson assumes this role following the completion of the current chairman, J. Neal Insley, who is also chairman of the Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.

Anderson was appointed director of the Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter on April 30, 2010 and continues to serve as director of the Idaho Lottery, a position he’s held since January 9, 2007. He came to state service after twenty-six years in broadcasting, most recently as vice president and general manager of CBS television affiliates KBOI (Boise) and KIDK (Idaho Falls).

Anderson is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) and serves as chair of the Internal Affairs Committee. He currently serves as immediate past-president of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), as a member of the Board of Directors of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), and chair of the MUSL Mega Millions, Hot Lotto, and Wild Card Game Groups.

While in local broadcasting, Anderson was involved in a variety of executive board-level posts for the Idaho State Broadcasters Association, including legislative liaison representing the industry’s interests to Congress and the Idaho legislature. He was the 2001 recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America Award for Service to Children.

Anderson received a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from California State University, Chico. He resides in Boise, Idaho with his wife of 31 years, Theresa Anderson.
