Craft beer has taken off over the past five years, with the industry now boasting over 6,000 craft breweries in the US alone, 700 of which opened in the past year. In order to continue this momentum, Anheuser-Busch (A-B) has launched Elevate, a new initiative that aims to take craft brewing to the next level by creating a stronger, safer, more sustainable category and raising awareness of its craft beer and cider brands.

New frontier for craft U.S. whiskey may be underfoot

SEATTLE -Matt Hofmann walks along a small brown pond, the earth of its bank springing underfoot like a muddy mattress.

The ground is, in fact, floating. It’s a peat bog on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, and it’s from here that Hofmann, a co-founder of Seattle’s Westland Distillery, is taking an unusual step for America’s booming spirits industry: making a whiskey whose “terroir” literally involves local dirt.

RNDC to form distributorship JV with Central Liquor in Oklahoma

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) has agreed to form a new joint venture (JV) distributorship with Central Liquor in Oklahoma in wake of changes made by the American state to its existing alcohol laws.

As per the terms of the agreement, the JV partners will jointly distribute wines, spirits and beer in Oklahoma.
