Permanently-reduced excise taxes for craft beverage industry are included in end-of-year legislation

WASHINGTON (NEWS10) – The Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA), which will permanently reduce excise taxes for brewers, vintners, cider makers, and distillers and remove regulatory barriers, will be included in the end of year legislation.

Why didn't a plan to expand takeout alcohol sales for bars, restaurants pass the Senate?

Allowing bars and restaurants to sell takeaway cocktails and increase the amount of beer and wine people can buy with to-go orders is a way to help the industry hit hard by the pandemic and COVID-related shutdowns.
