    Lithuania Enforces National Alcohol Ban

    Lithuania has introduced a new legislation banning alcohol advertising from all foreign and domestic TV, radio, printed media and the Internet, prompting government press distributors to start plastering over alcohol ads in print magazines.

    China Ends Service That Lets You Pay People to Get Drunk For You

    Just two weeks after launching a service that lets users find people to drink alcohol for them, a Chinese company decided to cease operations over regulation concerns.

    Founded in 2011, eDaijia, based in Beijing, introduced eDaihe, which means “to drink on behalf of,” on Dec. 28, 2017. The service allows users to find surrogate drinkers based on location and drinking capacity as well as their personal introduction.

    Alcohol promotion ban would spirit away whiskey industry's future growth

    The Irish whiskey industry has warned that its record-breaking growth could be jeopardised by new alcohol promotion regulations.

    The Irish Whiskey Association (IWA) claimed that the new Public Health (Alcohol) Bill could have a devastating impact on its industry and threaten everything from the success of new visitor centres to spin-off tourism sales.

    GIBA, Beverages Association want alcohol ads ban reviewed

    The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has urged the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to review the ban on the advertisement of alcoholic beverages between 6am and 8pm.

    The FDA had earlier stated that it would strictly enforce the regulations that prevent manufacturers of alcoholic products from advertising their products on radio and television during the day.

    Aspall, the cider brand founded in Suffolk in 1728, has been sold to the US beer giant that owns brands including Carling and Miller.

    Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba moving to Polo Park area

    What is currently an empty warehouse on Ellice Avenue will soon be the new headquarters of the province's liquor and gambling authority.

    The Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba will be moving into a 23,000-square-foot space in the Polo Park area, in what is currently an empty warehouse, said LGA communications analyst Lisa Hansen.
