    Senate votes unanimously to approve Sunday alcohol sales

    INDIANAPOLIS — It's been a hotly debated topic for years — Sunday alcohol sales in Indiana.

    Wednesday, the Senate Public Policy Committee voted unanimously to approve a Sunday alcohol sales bill. WSBT 22's Katlin Connin spent the day in Indianapolis.

    WHITESBORO, Tex. (KXII) -- Whitesboro voters are campaigning to legalize alcohol sales in the city, hoping to get the proposition on the May ballot.
    The city is completely dry, meaning no alcohol is sold in the city limits.

    This Midtown liquor store sells high-octane alcohol in small amounts. Some neighbors want it to stop.

    In a part of Midtown Anchorage where homes and condos border busy strip malls, neighbors and businesses are fed up with a certain kind of garbage: miniature liquor bottles and crushed Steel Reserve beer cans. They say these drinks are favored by chronic alcoholics, many of whom live on the street, fueling blight.

    Could A City-Run Liquor Store Be In Bethel’s Future? City Council Considers Ballot Proposition

    At Tuesday's meeting, Bethel City Council will consider putting two alcohol propositions on the ballot for October’s municipal election. One would ask voters whether Bethel should revisit its earlier decision under the local option alcohol law and prohibit all alcohol sales, except from a city-run liquor store.

    Senate Committee to Take up Cold Beer, Sunday Sales Bills

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The chairman of an Indiana Senate committee that handles alcohol matters has scheduled a hearing for a bill to allow retail Sunday booze sales.

    Republican Sen. Ron Alting, of Lafayette, says the measure will be heard Wednesday. He has also scheduled a hearing for Jan. 17 on a bill that would allow convenience and big-box stores to sell cold beer.
