    West Virginia alcohol administration issues advisory on holiday liquor sales

    MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration issued an advisory Monday reminding state residents that liquor purchases can't occur on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve due to the prohibition of Sunday sales.

    Underage drinking reaches ‘record low’ in UK

    Alcohol consumption among eight to 15-year-olds in the UK has dropped to “record lows”, falling by 67% since 2003 according to a new study.

    The figures, published on NHS Digital, were sourced from 12,051 pupils in 177 schools, who completed questionnaires in the autumn term of 2016.

    Tax Breaks for Alcohol Producers Included in Final Republican Tax Plan

    Members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives agreed over the weekend on a sweeping rewrite of the U.S. tax code that will include excise tax relief for alcohol producers and importers.  The Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA) survived a conference committee of the House and Senate and will be included in the final version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

    HARRISBURG — Wine and beer enthusiasts have a lot more opportunity to get their favorite beverages for this holiday season, thanks to the loosening of the state’s liquor laws passed in 2016.

    Hong Kong, Argentina sign MOU to promote wine trade

    Hong Kong and Argentina have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to co-operate and promote wine trade between the two countries.

    The MOU is not only related to wine related trade and investment promotion, but also focuses to the co-operation between the two countries in education, training and in the prevention of counterfeiting of wines.

    Drinks Manufacturers Raise Concerns Over Labelling Proposals In Alcohol Bill

    Irish drinks manufacturers have criticised the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, for failing to address concerns about the advertising and labelling proposals in the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill.

    The Alcohol Beverage Federation of Ireland (ABFI) says that Harris has not 'meaningfully engaged' with the manufacturers who will be impacted by the new legislation.
